International Dragon Boat Federation

Dragon Boating is a modern sport with roots that go back over 2300 years to traditional Dragon Boat Races in China.

To maintain its Chinese culture, IDBF Dragon Boat Sport preserves the traditional designs of the boats and paddles as used in Hong Kong and Southern China.

Modern Dragon Boat Racing is a sport based on the ability of the athletes as a Team and not on technical advances made in equipment design. It is for these reasons that in IDBF Championships and races only equipment made to IDBF Specification, by IDBF licensed manufacturers, can be used.
